Film photography is far from perfect in comparison to digital, but there is that nostalgic feel that goes along with an analog image.
I wish I was better at manual focus, it’s definitely a skill that needs to be worked on all the time. Combine that challenge with fast moving kids and eyes that aren’t as young as they used to be and the degree of difficulty increases tenfold.
Here’s an image of my daughter at the park, sure the focus is a bit off and some of the fingers of her right hand are out of frame, but I love it. The look on her face is awesome. This is another image shot with the Mamiya RZ67 even at f3.5, depth of field is so shallow that I missed focus by an inch. It was shot on my favourite black and white film, Kodak Tri-X 400.
