  6. May 12 marks my father in-law’s 4th month in the hospital. He initially went in for a fall that he had, since then he’s had a few bouts of pneumonia, three other falls, collapsed lungs, and even two separate cases of the superbug. It’s been hard on everyone, we want him home and well. It seems like one step forward and five steps back most days.

    Nikon F100 - 85mm 1.8G - Kodak Tri-X 400 - scanned via the Epson V600 and tweaked in PS CC and LR 5.

Update: Four days after taking these photos, my beloved father in-law passed away. He fought till the end, but simply there were too many complications and too many things wrong. For many years we all thought that he’d have a stroke, but ultimately it was his kidneys that let him down. I’m lucky to have known him. He will never be forgotten.

  9. This was a fail on my part. I didn’t dry the negatives properly and ended up with this. Funny thing is that, I actually like it. That’s one of the differences between film and digital, sometimes it’s not always perfect. You have to embrace the imperfections and extraneous artifacts. Like many before it, this was taken with the 90mm F3.5 on the Mamiya RZ67 Pro II - Fuji FP100C instant film.
